Introducing the hyperexponential certification program

In 2023, hyperexponential launched our certification program. This is a significant milestone in our ongoing mission to empower insurance professionals, validate their skills, and help organizations unlock Pricing Decision Intelligence.  

The program has already garnered a positive response, signaling a clear demand for further skill certification opportunities among our customers and partners. 

The hyperexponential certification program explained 

Our first certification, "Core Developer Fundamentals," is awarded after the successful completion of an exam that covers the basics of building and deploying a model in hx Renew using Python. This is more than just an assessment; it's a recognition of proficiency, designed to complement our Core Model Developer training. This training is the bedrock of our certification pathway.  

Passing the exam earns participants a digital badge and certificate, which can be proudly displayed on professional platforms like LinkedIn. 

There is clear demand for further exams to demonstrate additional skills. We are looking to grow our training and examination pathways and create a ladder of certifications for our community.  

Although we are not ready to divulge all the details yet, you can expect specialist exams relating to the hx Renew API, and to working with Plotly as a custom UI component.  

Three reasons to get certified:

How to get certified 

The exam consists of 50 multiple choice questions and takes 30 minutes to complete. It can be taken in person, or online.   

The primary preparation for the exam is studying the Core Model Developer training path, which can be found in hx Renew.  We also offer instructor-led training, in person or online. You can register your interest for a training session via our website. 

The training and exam covers topics like: 

• Navigating the hx Renew platform 

• Managing and working with data schemas 

• Working with Parameter tables 

• Building and managing rating algorithms 

• Designing and building the underwriters interface 

• Publishing and managing models  

We have run examination sessions in the hour before our user groups, which have been well subscribed.  Additionally, a good number of people have taken the exam online, in a 1:1 session with one of our Learning team acting as an invigilator. 

Although everything in the exam is taught during the training, we highly recommend students get 1-2 months experience working with hx Renew prior to taking the test.  This will increase their familiarity with the platform, and in turn increase the chances of success!
