Financial Planning & Analysis

FP&A at hx is where finance, data and storytelling meet. We build models and scenarios that show what the future could look like, then help leaders understand what to do about it. We work across systems, automate reporting and spend more time on insight than spreadsheet gymnastics.

We're in the room early, shaping decisions.

We're building processes, not Excel temples.

Impact means changing behavior, not just sharing data.

AI native by design, not by experiment.

Automate yourself out of a job, then move up the value chain.

We're synthesizing and filtering data, not just creating tables.

How finance is structured

Finance is a lean, AI-native team with two specialist areas

Finance is a lean, AI-native team with two specialist areas

  • Forecasting and decision support

We build models that show different futures based on bookings, headcount and regional assumptions. We stitch data from finance, people data and product into a single view that leadership can act on.

  • Building financial infrastructure

We design the close, controls and systems that keep data clean and the company compliant. We use automation and AI to remove manual steps, reduce errors and replace what other teams still do by hand.

  • Turning data into stories

We use AI to synthesize information and filter it for relevance. Whether it's board materials or helping leaders understand their numbers, the goal is making information change decisions, not just exist.

Who you’ll build with

Those shaping what others won’t even try

No team members found for “Finance”.

Could this be the place that changes your trajectory?
It might just be.

  • The patterns of our very best finance people

    • They connect the dots across systems

They're constantly marrying systems together - understanding how one piece of data in Ashby expands across finance, HR and forecasting. They follow threads until they find good data or missing data, never losing sight of what the whole picture needs to look like.

    • They build processes, then let them run

They build workflows that can tell them when there's a problem, then they let them go. The unlock in the age of AI is setting things up so they run without constant attention - then moving to higher-value work.

    • They focus on intellectual curiosity and love of learning

The world is changing faster than anyone can predict. They're confident that if they want to understand something, they can.

  • What the environment gives back

    • Freedom to automate yourself out of a job

We're given enough of a blank sheet that we define the problem and why it matters - not how to solve it. We can run off in a different direction if we're confident there's benefit there. Even if 9 out of 10 experiments fail to work, the 1 that does will 100x the rest.

    • Access to decisions that matter, early

We get exposure to leadership decisions, board-level work and strategic trade-offs far earlier than most finance careers. We're in the room when ideas are forming, not signing off after everything's agreed.

    • Compressed learning at the cutting edge

One year here feels like several elsewhere. We're building AI-native finance in real time - learning systems thinking, data fluency and commercial judgement that will age well.
